Our experienced staff of installers has worked with a wide variety of carpet ranging from wool loop to heavily textured shags.

When deciding on colors, go beyond beige!  Even if you choose a neutral tone, explore the "new neutrals" like taupe, mossy green slate grays, earth tones and buttery creams.  Dark colors make a room feel more intimate and cozy.  Light colors can make a room look larger, but may be harder to keep looking clean.

Carpet Styles

Cut Pile - Velvet plush styles are luxurious and suited for formal rooms.  Textured Saxonies are available in a broad array of colors and versatile enough to provide a backdrop for a traditional decor or casual contemporary setting.  New tightly twisted Friezes and fat, nubby Cable Styles are good choices for great rooms where warmth, comfort and casual style are key.  For an eclectic or retro look, shags are back, bigger and bolder than ever.

Loop - Loops are typically suited for more casual settings like a home office or playroom where things need to be moved easily across the floor.  Loop carpets can sometimes be a concern with pets, because the loops can be snagged easily and cause runs in the carpet.

Cut & Loop - These carpets can be single color or multi-colored and they combine both cut and uncut yarns to create geometric, botanical and abstract patterns for an elegant sophisticated look.

Carpet Construction

Twist Level - The tighter the twist in the yarn, the better the performance.

Weight/Density - Thick yarns packed closely together give a carpet the density to best stand up to active use.  The tighter the yarns are twisted, the more they will resist showing wear.

Gauge - The distance between the tufting needles per inch across the width of the carpet.

Pile Height - The height of the face pile from the yarn tip to the primary backing.  This must be factored in with weight and density to determine true performance.

Tufting -  Tufting allows more flexibility and design possibilities.
